Nunc's Amplification Workstation is composed of three components: GeNunc Tube Tray, GeNunc Holder, and Polystyrene Lid. The GeNunc Tube Tray and Holder work in concert with one another forming a workstation that holds up to 96, 0.2ml PCR tubes. The 8 x 12, 96 well configuration of the GeNunc Tube Tray is designed to support 0.2ml PCR tubes in an individual or strip format. The tube tray slides into the holder for use before and after PCR sample processing. Sample identification is enhanced through alpha-numeric coordinates and a one way, keyed fit into the holder. The tube tray and holder serve as a test tube rack to hold amplification tubes for benchtop PCR applications. Strips or individual tubes are loaded into the tray. Caps are pressed into place on the tubes. The tube tray, fully or partially loaded, is removed from the holder and placed in a V-bottom thermal cycler block. Upon completion of the PCR application, the tray is removed from the thermal cycler and slid back into the holder. The clear lid, when placed over the tubes in the tray, allows identification of individual PCR tubes and facilitates stacking for freezer storage.
