Pure cellulose grades. Whatman. Thin papers include Grade 3MM Chr, 1 Chr, 2 Chr, 4 Chr, 17 Chr, 20 Chr and 17 Chr. Specifications for each grade are as follows; 3MM Chr: Though widely used as a blotting paper, 3MM Chr is used in both electrophoresis and for general chemistry. A medium thickness paper (0.34 mm) used extensively for general chromatography and electrophoresis. Flow rate is 130 mm/30 min. Grade 1 Chr: Thickness 0.18mm. Flow rate (water) 130mm/30min. The world standard paper for chromatography. One of the thinnest papers, with medium flow rate.

Whatman Reeve Angel Grade 230 is a general qualitative filter with creped surface. High filtration speed and high loading capacity. Widely used in industrial laboratories and students laboratories for routine filtration. Normal qualitative applications will not introduce any significant impurities into the filtrate.

Normal qualitative applications will not introduce any significant impurities into the filtrate. However it is not recommended for Kjeldahl nitrogen analysis. 100/box.

Whatman Grade 4 offers extremely fast filtering (20-25 µm) with excellent retention of coarse particles and gelatinous precipitates such as ferric hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide. Whatman Grade 3 filter paper is double the thickness of Grade 1 with still finer particle retention and excellent loading capacity; more precipitate can be held without clogging. The extra thickness gives increased wet strength and makes this grade highly suitable for use in Büchner funnels. The high absorbency is particularly valuable when the paper is used as a sample carrier. This filter is also available in the Whatman FilterCup. Whatman Grade 2 filter paper is slightly more retentive than Grade 1 with a corresponding increase in filtration time (i.e., slightly slower filtration speed). More absorbent than Grade 1. In addition to general filtration in the 8 µm particle size range, the extra absorbency is utilized, for example, to hold soil nutrient in plant growth trials. Also used for monitoring specific contaminants in the atmosphere and in soil testing. Also available prepleated as Grade 2V. 100 circles/box.

Whatman 1PS Phase Separator Paper is a hydrophobic filter for routine solvent extraction. Within seconds it retains aqueous phases, while solvent phases flow through. 1PS Phase Separator is impregnated with stabilized silicone, creating a hydrophobic filter paper that can replace separatory funnel use in certain applications.
